Bio:

I am a licensed mental health counselor. I graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 1990 with a Master degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have been working professionally with adolescents and their families for over 25 years, first as a secondary school teacher and then as a counselor. I have been on the clinical staff of Youth Eastside Services in Bellevue, WA since 1990 in the position of family therapist and parent educator. I began my private practice in 1996, focusing on couples and family counseling. Additionally, I provide parenting education and support in the Lake Washington and Edmonds School districts. I have additional training in ADHD, and I coach both adults and children in success strategies.

Practice Philosophy:

While working with you I draw primarily on a counseling approach that views the problems presented within the context of the family and social environment. I use structural and strategic family therapy methods as well as working with family of origin issues. We will be talking about the patterns in your life and working to change those that are painful and unfulfilling to you. My goal is to support you in creating new, more joyful interactions with the world around you.
